The importance of using hygiene supplies to keep a food premises in good condition has been highlighted by news of the prosecution of a pub landlord.
According to the Norwich Evening News, Lloyd Clarke of the Huntsman and Hounds pub in Spexhall was found to have breached a number of food safety regulations during an inspection in 2009.
Waveney District Council environmental health inspectors found the premises to be dirty, storing products unfit for consumption and without a food management system.
As a result, Mr Clarke was fined £1,900 and banned from working in such a capacity after he pleaded guilty to 17 offences.
Paul Goldsmith, district council food safety officer, said: "This was the one of the worst cases of food hygiene failure I have ever dealt with."
Elsewhere, the Yorkshire Post recently reported that Gino's Fast Food in Hull was forced to close its doors after it was found to be in serious breach of cleanliness rules.
