Air purification systems 'help allergy sufferers'

Employers may want to consider investing in washroom air purification systems after one commentator suggested such devices can help allergy sufferers.

Writing for UK News Reporter, Pedro Vierne explained how pollen, dust and odours can cause sneezing along with watery and puffy eyes in sensitive individuals.

Those with more severe allergies could also suffer from breathing difficulties if they inhale contaminants in the air, he noted.

It was described how indoor environments can sometimes be worse than the outdoors, as people continually breathe in and out the same gases.

"The function of the ... air purifier is to purify the circulating air which you are breathing and eradicate all the floating particles which are behind the attacks," Mr Vierne remarked.

According to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, air purification units are more likely to be beneficial when used in homes that are thoroughly cleaned in order to prevent the collection of contaminants on worktops and surfaces.
